Ballygannon Coastal Defence Works, Co. Wicklow
This project included the site clearance over the coastal area of 50,000m2, bulk excavations took place to form a new profile of coastal embankment to allow the placing of rock armour imported by sea. The rock was tipped off a ship and recovered using excavators and dump trucks. Rock was placed in layers from 25mm stone to 15tonne boulders over 80,000tonne in total
