Duties

  • Setting out according to design drawings and complying with company setting out procedures
  • As-built surveys with processing
  • Valuation surveys with processing – commence surveys and process figures according to QS requests and site conditions
  • Comply with company and site-specific Health and Safety protocols, ensuring any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary
  • Take care of instruments under your control
  • Comply with the company’s detailed survey protocols
  • Disseminate information from drawings and specifications to foremen, operatives, and subcontractors so requirements are clearly understood
  • Check plans and drawings to ensure all calculations are accurate
  • Ensure work performed and materials used comply with contract specifications
  • Cooperate with the contract manager, foreman, colleagues, other contractors, and the client’s site management
  • Maintain daily records

Requirements

  • A third-level Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Setting out experience is essential for this position
  • Understanding of key elements of engineering work on site, including setting out, day-to-day surveys, and as-built drawings
  • Proficient in the use of Topcon and/or GPS Trimble EDM instrumentation
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
  • Sound knowledge of the latest building regulations and certification standards
  • Valid Safe Pass
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to work on their own initiative
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are key

Requirements

  • Site driving experience is essential
  • At least 2 years of experience is essential
  • Valid CPCs and a current valid driver’s licence
  • Valid Safe Pass and DigiCard
  • Good level of spoken and written English
  • Good knowledge of Dublin and surrounding counties is preferable
