The development comprised the construction of Central Quad- 6 storey educational building for Dublin Institute of Technology. Shannon Valley had been contracted to carry out site development that included an excavation for basement and associated site development work. Total volume of 28,500 m3 was excavated and disposed of to the licenced waste facilities in accordance with the Dig Plan and the following classification: category 1 and 2- inert material 23,000 m3, category 3 non hazardous material- 4,000 m3 and category 4 hazardous materials- 1500 m3.
