East Wall Road

Project Summary

Marshall Yards, East Road, Dublin
The traditional piling platform was constructed from a 0.5m layer of imported aggregates overlaying a combigrid. At the commencement of works approximately 40% of the site was covered to facilitate the installation of 600m diameter CFA piles. The site has transferred ownership and the new owner decided to reduce the traffic movements to and off site and to promote sustainable development by using site won resources to construct the remainder of the piling platform to complete the installation of piles at the site. Site won materials were excavated to natural ground where a geogrid was placed over the in-situ soils. Binder treated soil was placed in layers and capped with imported rockfill to complete the piling working platform for the pile rig.
